Due on 12/4/12:
* If you haven't already, send me an email with the prayer requests you would like me to pray for you when your name comes up in my Prayer Partner app.
* Complete the essay on your favorite season. Be sure each paragraph has an introductory sentence and at least four supporting sentences about that topic. The opening paragraph will have the sentence you wrote to introduce the entire essay. The closing paragraph should also have the sentence you wrote to conclude the entire essay. This makes at least 17 sentences for the entire essay.
* Be sure the essay follows standard format for typewritten compositions. (See previous entries for a refresher if you've forgotten.)
* Have your essay ready to turn in with the chart/outline and the sheet with the 5 sentences, the first (edited by someone) draft, and the final draft stapled and ready to turn in. (Newest, nicest stuff on top, in reverse order with oldest stuff in the back.)
* If you haven't, turn in your signed Reading Log and your signed report card.
NOTE: If you didn't pick up a new copy of the Reading Log in class yesterday, please keep track on a sheet of paper and pick one up next Tuesday.
ALSO:
* Reading for Reading Log: 30 minutes daily. (Reading Log is usually due, signed by parent, at the end of the month. This month it will be due when we return from Christmas break, on Thursday, January 3.)

HW from 11/1/12
Due on 11/6/12:
* Complete the "Put Him in the Zoo" handout, changing the bottom section to third person point of view. I will email you a copy of the handout so you can cut and paste into a new document make the changes on the computer if you'd like. Of course, you may write it out by hand if you prefer.
* Translate the following Bible verse (I Corinithians 13:1-13, NIV84) to third person point of view. You will only need to change some of the parts, as some are already in third person point of view.
(Again, you may cut and paste into a new document to make the changes on the computer if you'd like, or you may write it out by hand. Please have all 13 verses, even though some don't need to be changed because they're already in third person point of view.)
13 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12 Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
