HW from 3/29/11

Due on 3/31/11:
* READING LOG IS DUE!
* Using the guidelines on the handout I gave you, please choose whether you would like to start your next story with setting or character.
* Also, decide what point of view (and tense) you want to use for your story.  Again, I strongly recommend that you choose third person, past tense, as this is the easiest to maintain consistently throughout your writing.  I will not forbid first person or present tense, however.
* Begin your story (using setting/character and the point of view you determined above) by writing the first couple of paragraphs.  Use the examples I gave you as guidelines only.  Plan to think/write/plan for about half an hour; give yourself plenty of time.
* Find any examples of figurative language on the handout I gave you.  Write them down, and identify what kind of figurative language it is.
