* Reading for Reading Log: 30 minutes daily. (Reading Log is due, signed by parent, on the last class period of the month.)

* Read pp. 128, 130-131 in Writer's Inc.

* Your first composition is not a story but a descriptive paper about a particular place.  Choose the place you would like to describe in your descriptive composition. Do not start writing your paper!  Just choose the place and then complete the following exercise:

* Write 3 good, descriptive sentences for each of the five areas represented by your five senses.  In other words, write 3 descriptive sentences about how your place looks.  Then write 3 descriptive sentences each about how it smells, tastes, sounds, and feels.  [This will be fifteen sentences in all.]
