HW from 4/18/13

Due on 4/23/13

* Pray for Gloria and her family as they walk through the pain of Ian's death.

"I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry.  He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.  He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.  Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord." - Psalm 40:1-3

* Send me an email, as discussed in class and in the "ALSO" section below.

* Have your report card signed by a parent and return it to me.  If you received a grade of  I (incomplete), be sure you have completed all missing assignments from last quarter so that your grade can be tabulated.  All work must be completed and turned in by Tuesday, 4/23, or your grade will be averaged with zeroes for the incomplete work.

* Continue writing your D1 of your theme story, adding at least 4 typewritten pages (2 per school day) using our usual paper parameters.  Do not print them or email them.  (This puts you at needing to have at least 6 full pages by Tuesday.) If you need to see your plot line sheet and your turned it in with your G2, just let me know in your email and I will scan a copy to you.

NOTE: Our standard paper parameters are as follows: 12-point Times New Roman or Arial font, 1-inch margins, double-spaced, with 5-space paragraph indentation and no extra lines between paragraphs.  Your final paper must be at least five full typewritten pages, but no more than 25 typewritten pages, when you turn it in.  You will add pages at a rate of two pages per homework day until your paper is finished.  Please turn in your D1 as soon as it is complete.

* If you did not do so before, visit the following two websites and read the information there about rhythm and meter in poetry.  (You don't need to watch any videos; just read the information.)
Looking at Rhythm and Meter in Poetry (for Dummies)--Page 2 of 5
Rhythm, Meter, and Scansion Made Easy

* If you have not done so, complete your revised D2 of your mystery story.  It is now past due. (See the blog entry from 4/11 for instructions about what should be turned in and in what format.)  I will not accept them past Tuesday, 4/23.

* If you have not done so, email me a copy of your final D2 of the mystery story to post on the website.

You should be prepared to recite any of your three memory verses at any time (Psalm 141:3, Titus 2:11-14, and Ephesians 4:29-32).  You might choose to review one verse each day so that they stay fresh in your mind.

ALSO:
* Send me an email indicating that you have carefully read the homework blog and that you understand everything that is to be completed for the next class period.  You will do this following each class day (and before the next class day); the total will count toward your "Blog Grade" this quarter, which will average in like a test grade in your final average for Q4.

* Reading for Reading Log: 30 minutes daily. (Reading Log is usually due, signed by parent, at the end of the month.  This month it will be due on Tuesday, April 30.)
