HW from 2/13/14

Due on Tuesday, 2/18/14

1.  Make a Scripture memory card to use to memorize your second Scripture memory verse and bring it to class on Tuesday  You will be required to recite the second verse aloud to the class whenever called upon, beginning in March.  You are responsible to continue to review the first verse such that you can say it any time you are called upon.

2.  Find lyrics (to any song) that demonstrate a clear, obvious rhyming pattern ("rhyme scheme"). Type them up (or cut and paste from a website) into a document and send them to my regular email as an attachment.

3.  Continue to work on your story as indicated below:

    (1) If you have not yet turned in your D1, proof and revise your story such that it is as perfect as you can make it.  Your envelope containing your D1and all other materials will be due no later than next Tuesday, 2/18.  NOTE: See the separate entry called Expectations and Requirements for the Mystery Story and follow the detailed instructions!

    (2) If your D1 is ready before Sunday morning, email the perfect D1 copy as an attachment to my regular email address.  I will print and grade this copy (your "red copy"), which you will then revise into your D2.  Be sure that you have clearly labeled this as your D1, in both the email and the document.  Then turn in your manilla envelope with all other components on Tuesday, 2/18.

    (3) If your D1 is not ready until after Sunday morning, print the perfect D1 copy and put it in your manilla envelope with all the other components and give it to me in class next Tuesday.

    (4) If your D1 is already graded and you have your red copy back, be revising your D1 as indicated on your red copy into a perfect final draft (your D2).  You will turn the D2 in as soon as it is ready. Print it and turn it in (with all other components, including your red copy D1) in your mantilla envelope.

Also (daily):

+ Write your monthly blog post entry, which is due anytime during the month.  Please type it up, email it to me, and turn in a hard copy to me in class before the last day of the month.  You may write about anything you would like to.  Follow the directions on the sheet I gave you for the 12-Months-of-2014 Blog Challenge.  (See handout.)

Read your (approved) book for pleasure 30 minutes daily.  Mark it on your reading log as you go along. The February reading log is due, signed by a parent, on  Tuesday, March 4.

+ Work on your Scripture memory and Scripture memory review.  You need to be ready to recite any one of your completed memory verses perfectly from memory any time I call on you in class.

+ Review daily the material from our writing and grammar lessons in class so that you can more easily learn and memorize (as we go along) the different things we are studying.  Be ready for a quiz anytime on all that we've learned so far.
