Due on Tuesday, 2/11/14
1. Write your Springboard ("I Am") poem, following the format of the original poem in your book
(Writer's Inc., p. 182).
NOTE:
* three stanzas of four lines each
* first and last lines are identical (and begin with I am a...)
* each line begins with I and a present tense verb
* each line is a complete sentence ending in a period
* the poem must be about you!
2. Type up your Springboard poem in the correct format and print a copy to turn in on Tuesday.
3. Continue to work on your story as indicated below:
* If you have not yet finished your story:
Between now next Tuesday, you must finish writing your story (but not proofing it). The finished length must be somewhere between 6 and 25 pages.
* When you finish your story, do the following:
(1) Write me at my regular email and tell me that you have finished your paper, it is ___ pages long,
and you are in the proofing stage.
(2) Proof and revise your paper such that it is as perfect as you can make it.
NOTE: See the separate entry called Expectations and Requirements for the Mystery
Story and follow the detailed instructions!
(3) Email the perfect D1 copy as an attachment to my regular email address. I will print and
grade this copy (your "red copy"), which you will then (much later) revise into your D2. Be sure
you have clearly labeled this as your D1, in both the email and the document.
(4) Turn in your manilla envelope with all the other components.

You may write about anything you would like to. Follow the directions on the sheet I gave you for the 12-Months-of-2014 Blog Challenge. (See handout.)
