Due on Thursday, 2/6/14
1. I enjoyed seeing many of you last night, either attending or performing in the Sampler! In light of the Sampler and the kind of day it made many of you have, I have decided against giving you the poetry assignment I mentioned in class for homework. We will start our poetry study tomorrow in class.
2. Continue to work on your story as indicated below:
* If you have not yet finished your story:
Between now next Tuesday, you must finish writing your story (but not proofing it). Please use your time wisely to make sure you have time to complete your story before next Tuesday's class. Add at least two pages per day until your story is finished. (The finished length must be somewhere between 6 and 25 pages.)
* When you finish your story, do the following:
(1) Write me at my regular email and tell me that you have finished your paper, it is ___ pages long,
and you are in the proofing stage.
(2) Proof and revise your paper such that it is as perfect as you can make it.
NOTE: See the separate entry called Expectations and Requirements for the Mystery
Story and follow the detailed instructions!
(3) Email the perfect D1 copy as an attachment to my regular email address. I will print and
grade this copy (your "red copy"), which you will then (much later) revise into your D2.

Continue to memorize your Scripture memory verse. You will be required
to recite it aloud to the class whenever called upon from this point forward.
4. Be sure you are learning and reviewing the ten vocabulary terms associated with plot that we reviewed yesterday in class. You will have a quiz soon on the newer elements of narration that we have been studying (point of view and plot).

Also (daily):
+ Read your (approved) book for pleasure 30 minutes daily. Mark it on your reading log as you go along. The February reading log is due, signed by a parent, on Tuesday, March 4.
+ Work on your Scripture memory and Scripture memory review. You need to be ready to recite any one of your memorized verses perfectly from memory any time I call on you in class.
+ Review daily the material from our writing and grammar lessons in class so that you can more easily learn and memorize (as we go along) the different things we are studying. Be ready for a quiz anytime on all that we've learned so far.
