HW from Tuesday, 10/17/17

Due on Thursday, 10/19/17

1) Find an example of interesting dialogue in a book you’re reading or have read. Print a copy and prepare it “hot-dog-bun style” to turn in when you arrive to class tomorrow.

2) Type up a dialogue between three different characters. Follow the guidelines below:

* It does not have to be anything super meaningful or profund, but please make sure the conversation they’re having is edifying to read. 

* Each person should speak at least twice, and you as the narrator should have some interesting intervening commentary describing the characters or the scene. Study the dialogue from yesterday for ideas.

* Your dialogue should be correctly punctuated, as best you know how from studying the dialogue we did in class yesterday.

3) If you have any writer's notebook entries to make up, please do so. You may call me for the topic(s) you missed. Set a timer and write for 5 minutes, just as we do in class.

NOTE: Do not forget to bring your writer's notebook back to class!

+ Read your (approved) book for pleasure, aiming for 30 minutes daily. Mark the number of minutes on your Reading Log as you go along—in multiples of five, rounded down—and have a parent initial it in the box each day. The October Reading Log will be due on Tuesday, 10/31/17. 

+ Make your bed! :)
