HW from Tuesday, 2/6/18

Due on AND BEFORE Thursday, 2/8/18

1) Be ready for the Semester 1 test on Thursday.

2) Continue memorizing your new Scripture memory verse. Be ready to recite this verse in class by next Tuesday.

3) Add up the score you would have earned had I actually used the grading rubric I returned to you. (Multiply out the numbers according to how much each item was worth.) I DID NOT GIVE YOU THIS GRADE—this will not be graded in this way until your first full draft of your completed story—and I circled more harshly than I might normally have so you will know what you need to be correcting and modifying before you continue.

4) Make all suggested corrections from your returned D3 of your mystery story BEFORE continuing, including if you were asked to do significant writing revision to what you’ve already turned in. This much MUST be completed by Thursday.

NOTE: If your total on the rubric was above 80, you may make the corrections and then continue writing your story. Please add several pages by Thursday. If your total on the rubric was below 80, please make all suggested corrections and revisions and write one more page, then send the paper to my Markup ASAP on Wednesday, if possible.

5) Return your signed report card on Thursday if you did not do so yet. Also be prepared to turn in or show any work that you weren’t ready for on Tuesday.

Also, daily:

+ Read your (approved) book for pleasure, aiming for 30 minutes daily. Mark the number of minutes on your Reading Log as you go along—in multiples of five, rounded down—and have a parent initial it in the box each day. The February Reading Log will be due on Thursday, 3/1/18.

+ Review your two memorized Scripture memory verses (Titus 2:11-14 and Ephesians 4:29-32).

+ Practice and work on memorizing your new Scripture memory verse (Philippians 4:4-8 OR 1 Chronicles 29:11-14).
