HW from 2/2/12

Due on 2/7/12:

* Read your (approved) book for pleasure 30 minutes daily. Mark it on your Reading Log!

* Return your signed report card
, if you haven't already.

* Read over and review the information on "singular they" on our class website. You may click on the link to "Creative Writing Home" on the left sidebar of this Homework Blog to get there. Then click into "Topics of Study, Quarter 3" on the left-hand sidebar. Find "third person singular indefinite pronoun." Be sure to click into all of the pages to read all the information.

* Be prepared with all three of your Scripture memory verses (I Chronicles 29:11-14, Philippians 4:4-8, and either Titus 2:11-14 or Ephesians 4:29-32) at any time! Keep reviewing all three because you will be expected to keep all memorized verses in your mind all year! Review one verse each day to keep them fresh! You will have a quiz on these on Tuesday.

* Complete your name poem, if you haven't already turned it in to me (in your writer's notebook). See the blog entry from 2/2 for specific instructions.

* Finish your mystery story, if you haven't. Your completed story (D2) is due on Tuesday. Be sure it is formatted according to the criteria listed below, and that the plot line is satisfying to the reader.

* Proofread your paper! Give it to others to proofread. Make it as perfect as you know how before you turn it in.

* When your story is complete (proofread carefully!) email it to me as an attachment entitled "Your name's mystery story D2" (ex. Laurie's mystery story D2). You may print it and hand me a hard copy if you would like, but emailing it to me as an attachment is sufficient as long as you've gotten an email from me indicating that I've printed it before Tuesday morning.

CORRECT FORMAT FOR MYSTERY STORY:
+ Create a header that will put your name and the title of your story on the right top corner of each page. Do not skip any lines in this header.

+ Create a footer that will automatically number your pages in the center of the bottom of each page. Do not skip any lines in the footer.

+ Be sure your paper is in a word processing program and that it is double-spaced, with one-inch margins, using 12-point Times New Roman font. Do not have any sections of your paper written any larger or smaller than 12-point font.

+ On the blank line between scenarios, put three dashes, like this: ---
