* Read your (approved) book for pleasure 30 minutes daily. Mark it on your Reading Log!
* Our next class period will be Valentine's Day. Please write down and bring your favorite Bible verse about love. Do not choose 1 Corinthians 13, the "love chapter," but another verse about love. It can be about any kind of love mentioned in the Scriptures.
* Complete your springboard poem, copying the form we looked at in class. (See p.182 of your Writer's Inc. book for a sample.) Remember the following:
+ The first and last lines of the poem are the same "I am" statement.
+ Each line of the poem is a complete sentence, beginning with "I (verb)..."
+ There are three stanzas of four lines each.
+ Your poem should be autobiographical (about yourself) and positive.
+ Your poem should be typed and printed to turn in on Tuesday.
* Select a song (any kind of song, as long as it is edifying and not offensive in some way) which contains an obvious rhyming pattern. Write down, type, or otherwise copy the lyrics [words] and bring them to class on Tuesday.
* Return your signed report card, if you haven't already.

* Be prepared with all three of your Scripture memory verses (I Chronicles 29:11-14, Philippians 4:4-8, and either Titus 2:11-14 or Ephesians 4:29-32) at any time! Keep reviewing all three because you will be expected to keep all memorized verses in your mind all year! Review one verse each day to keep them fresh!
* Finish your mystery story, if you haven't. Your completed, proofread story (D2) is due as soon as possible. Be sure it is formatted according to the criteria listed in the previous blog posts, and that the plot line is satisfying to the reader. Email it to me as an attachment entitled "Your name's mystery story D2" (ex. Laurie's mystery story D2).------- OPENING (Bible verse and prayer):
