HW from 4/17/12

Due on 4/19/12:

* "Happy Anniversary" to me! My husband iivo and I were married twenty years ago today. :-)

* Read your (approved) book for pleasure 30 minutes daily. Mark it on your Reading Log.

* Read over the 5 pages of your story, which were due yesterday and which you emailed to me yesterday. Proofread it for any errors. Print a copy of this proofread document. This will be your D1, which you will turn in tomorrow (Thursday). [NOTE: You don't have to re-email it to me.]

* You do not need to continue your story this weekend. No part of your story is due next Tuesday. If you want to continue, feel free. You may write as much as you like, but your final paper may not be longer than 15 pages.

* Scan all the poems in the poetry pack for both rhyme scheme and meter (rhythmic foot). Be sure this information is written next to the poems, on the poetry pack pages themselves. [NOTE: I know this stuff is tricky. Just try your best to figure out what rhythm you think you hear. We will talk about it together.]

* Keep reviewing all your memory work. You must remain prepared at any time to recite your memory work, which consists of:
+ four Bible verses (I Chronicles 29:11-13, Philippians 4:4-8, Titus 2:11-14, Ephesians 4:29-32)

+ the poem you selected to memorize and recite to the class
+ the William Blake poem "The Lamb"
+ the first stanza of the Barry Cornwall poem "The Sea"
