HW from 4/24/12

Due on 4/26/12:

* Read your (approved) book for pleasure 30 minutes daily. Mark it on your Reading Log, which will be due next Tuesday, 5/1.

* Remember to add at least five things to your "thankfulness list" before the next class period.

* Write a poem that meets all of the requirements for your age group for an entry in the 2012 HSLDA poetry contest. (http://www.hslda.org/Contests/Poetry/2012/2012rules.asp)  This is due on Thursday.  Do not get any help on it!

* You do not need to work on your story, but feel free to add some more if you want to.

* Be sure you have scanned all the poems in the poetry pack for both rhyme scheme and meter (rhythmic foot). This information should be written next to the poems, on the poetry pack pages themselves.

* Keep reviewing all your memory work. You must remain prepared at any time to recite your memory work, which consists of:
+ four Bible verses (I Chronicles 29:11-13, Philippians 4:4-8, Titus 2:11-14, Ephesians 4:29-32)

+ the poem you selected to memorize and recite to the class

+ the William Blake poem "The Lamb"

+ the first stanza of the Barry Cornwall poem "The Sea"
