HW from 4/8/14

Due on Thursday, 4/10/14

1.  If you haven't yet turned in the G1 of your theme story, please do so ASAP.  (Ditto if you haven't returned your signed report card.)  It is now overdue if you didn't have a mercy extension for the Science Expo, and if you did, it is due before Thursday.

2.  Those who have turned your G1 in on Markup: As soon as you receive it back (I'm grading them as fast as I can!), make the suggested corrections.  In the meantime, continue with your story.  You must add pages to your story daily at a rate of at least two per school day between class periods.  [This puts you at six pages by Thursday and ten pages by next Tuesday, 4/15.]  DO NOT EMAIL ME YOUR STORY AGAIN UNTIL YOU'VE COMPLETED YOUR G2 (ten pages, due by next Tuesday).  Be sure to label your G2 at the top of your paper and in the subject line of your email to Markup and to change the date.

NOTE: Your completed theme story must be at least 5 full pages--i.e., it's at least moved onto page 6--but no longer than 15 pages.

2.  Be sure you are ready to recite your third memory verse.  All students should be prepared to recite any of the first three verses at any time and should be working on memorizing the fourth.

3.  Be memorizing the poem you selected.  I will be contacting you today if the poem you have selected is inappropriate for some reason.  (After I grade all of the G1s I will look over the poems.)

Also (daily):

Read your (approved) book for pleasure 30 minutes daily.  Mark it on your reading log as you go along. The March reading log is due, signed by a parent, on Thursday, May 1.

Bear in mind that your monthly blog post entry is due anytime during the month.  Please type it up, email it to me, and turn in a hard copy to me in class before the last day of the month.  You may write about anything you would like to.  Follow the directions on the sheet I gave you for the 12-Months-of-2014 Blog Challenge.  (See handout.)

+ Work on your Scripture memory and Scripture memory review.  You need to be ready to recite any of your completed memory verses perfectly from memory any time I call on you in class.

+ Review daily the material from our writing and grammar lessons in class so that you can more easily learn and memorize (as we go along) the different things we are studying.  Be ready for a quiz anytime on all that we've learned so far.
